Forest-Border; an artistic voyage of discovery with stories, sound art and land art.
Forest-Border; the first project of the Hrins collective, takes you on a journey of discovery through nature, sound art, stories, heritage and land art. Inspired by the wealth of stories from the past and present, we guide visitors along the border villages of Sint-Gillis-Waas (BE), Kapellebrug (NL) and the beautiful Waterwinbossen Clinge (NL) and the Stropersbos (BE).
At the starting point of the walk, Klingspoor (Buitenstraat 7, Sint-Gillis-Waas, BE) you will receive the necessary information and a link to the app with route and soundtrack v.d. walk or a specially designed device & headset that you can use to explore. Along the way you can relax at the 'border benches' where the soundtrack with border stories is activated in your headphones via a signal.
There are also two land-art border installations, designed by Kris Drieghe (Holarchitecten) and realized through participation with (inter)national architecture students, local schools and border residents.
The starting point is at KLINGSPOOR (Buitenstraat 7, 9170 Sint-Gillis-Waas, BE), in front of the entrance of this museum there is also an information board where you can download the app via a QR code. The total distance is 6.5 km and the soundtrack lasts 45 minutes.
The sound walk is a journey of discovery for young and old, the full experience takes about three hours. This makes the walk less suitable for children under 10 years old.
Don't forget to fully charge your smartphone and to bring your headphones or earphones!
Would you like to listen to the soundtrack again after the walk? Then you can purchase the beautifully designed "Bos-Border" book with border stories and photos via our webshop.
