About WARIFA Mobile

The WARIFA app is developed as part of the EU-funded WARIFA research project that aims to provide users with personalized recommendations on modifiable risk factors associated with chronic conditions such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and skin melanoma. By analysing user-generated data through artificial intelligence (AI) and risk prediction, the app provides lifestyle recommendations.
The WARIFA app is a lifestyle tool designed to help users make informed lifestyle choices that may prevent chronic conditions and support those with type 1 diabetes in general health awareness and self-management. Its primary function is to deliver personalized lifestyle recommendations, powered by AI, to encourage users to adopt healthier habits without directing or guiding clinical decision-making.

Disclaimer:
The WARIFA app is a wellness tool designed to provide general health information and personalized recommendations. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making decisions related to your health, including changes to your diet, exercise, or medical care. The features and tools within the app are intended for informational purposes only and should not replace professional medical guidance.

Risk Calculators
The app includes scientific risk calculators for cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and melanoma, estimating an individual’s potential future risk. These calculations are based on self-reported data and are not a substitute for medical diagnosis, medical advice, or treatment. They apply to specific age and sex groups and may not be suitable for others. Factors such as genetics, lifestyle, and environment may influence disease risk beyond calculators estimates.

Cardiovascular Disease: Norway: NORRISK2, Other Countries: Score2 Moderate
Melanoma: QIMR
Type 2 Diabetes: FINDRISC

The WARIFA app uses a screening tool designed to assess risk factors associated with COPD in smokers. This screening tool is solely an informational assessment and does not constitute a medical diagnosis. Results from this tool should not be interpreted as a definite indicator of COPD. The screening tool should increase the smokers’ awareness about symptoms. The screening tool should not substitute a medical evaluation. For a full assessment and diagnosis, please consult a medical doctor.
COPD: COPD-SQ

Glucose Trend Prediction
The glucose trend prediction feature in the app is intended solely for informational purposes to support general health awareness among users with Type 1 Diabetes. This feature does not provide real-time glucose monitoring and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It is not intended to guide clinical decision-making or replace standard glucose monitoring devices recommended by healthcare providers. Users are advised to rely on their prescribed glucose monitoring devices and consult healthcare professionals for any health management decisions related to diabetes.
