National Business Initiative (NBI) Nepal started our journey towards ethical and responsible business in 2013 by publicly declaring NBI Code of Conduct Principles in presence of then Cabinet Chair Rt. Honorable Mr. Khila Raj Regmi. The Code was endorsed by over 100 businesses in Nepal.
Building on this momentum, First Responsible Business Summit (RBS) was organizedin August 2014 with the theme "Ethical Practices for Business Success". The summit was inaugurated by then Prime Minister Rt. Honorable Sushil Koirala and His Excellency German Ambassador to Nepal graced the ceremony as special guest. Acknowledging the importance of the summit and role it played in advancing the responsible business agenda, we promised to hold RBS every two years.
Accordingly, Second Responsible Business Summit was held in August 2017 on the theme "Corporate Conscience for Business Excellence". Rt Honorable Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba inaugurated the opening plenary. Both these summits saw active participation and engagement of nearly 500 leaders from business, government and civil society for 2 days establishing Responsible Business Summit as the most elegant and the only one of its kind multi-stakeholder national platform to learn about responsible business practices in Nepal, get inspired to start or improvise on the responsible business journey and network with like minded people from across the country.
Following the rich history, we now present the Third Responsible Business Summit with the theme "Responsible Business for Sustainable Development" on 5-6th September 2019. RBS 2019 will have a prominent focus on the Sustainable Development Goals or Agenda 2030
