Blessed Miguel Tomaszek and Blessed Zbigniew Strzałkowski, Conventual Franciscans (OFMConv.), and Blessed Sandro Dordi, diocesan priest, were murdered by terrorists from the "Shining Path" party in August 1991 in Peru. The three were beatified on December 5, 2015 in Chimbote, the seat of the diocese where they were carrying out their ministry. The Blessed Martyrs served the local population with enthusiasm and dedication, they loved the people to whom they were sent and from the deep convictions inspired by the Gospel they wanted to respond to their needs and concerns.
