PANNAI mssrf

MSSRF has developed an android based mobile app ‘PANNAI’ (Pest-disease Advance Notification and Need-based Agriculture Information) which gives advisory for land to land. An innovative technology such as real time weather data, GIS and remote sensing has been used to predict pest and disease and forewarn the farmers through PANNAI application. The unique feature of this app is that all the Field Measurement Boundary (FMB) level land records have been digitised and specific land wise advisories will be given, based on automatic weather station installed by MSSRF at Vedhranyam block of Nagapattinam District. Moreover, this app will connect the farmers and scientific communities to manage and monitor their farms continuously.

Note: Now it has been piloted to small and marginal farmers for vedharanyam block of Nagapattinam district. It will be expanded to other parts of the state shortly.
