CAPTURE DATA PROJECT

Underwater Catch Data Information

The project aims to document fisheries and their fishing locations, to seek a better ordering of the regions, thus bringing crucial information to improve the follow-up of amateur fishing, showing that the underwater fisherman:

- Follows capture rules of the current law, respecting quota and defence;

- Temperature and climate information;

- Fish movement;

- Water conditions (which is not always possible to practice underwater fishing);

- Locations of ghost nets and lost fishing gear

- These reports are very important because in the OBS: it informs prohibited fish, shoals, hatchlings, egg fish, garbage, all the condition at the bottom of the fishing place.

From the fish data it shows species caught and weight, generating a CPUE report (Catch per Unit of Effort) which can be compared with other fishing modalities that issue identical reports being general or by species

And a plethora of possible information from reports and information to be passed on to other fishing sectors
