About Semanasi

SemaNasi app derives its name from a Swahili word meaning 'talk to us'.The app was purposely developed to narrow down vernacular hate speech on various social media platforms, enabling people to report and translate vernacular hate speech on social media with an image or video evidence. In April 2022, The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) said that most social media hate speech was formed along tribal lines. Through SemaNasi, this trend can easily be curbed. Additionally, the SemaNasi app also promotes peace on social media by providing civic education materials to its users, in the form of flyers and short videos, thus enhancing peaceful coexistence on social media.
