Brave Heart is a mental health wellness intervention designed
and developed by the Slum and Rural Health Initiative
(SRHIN).
Through its structured curriculum and engaging contents, you will learn
about embracing self-awareness, the role that family and society plays
in your mental well-being and how to seek help and support. You will
also learn about common mental health terminologies, mental health
distress, challenges and disorders.
The Brave heart mental health intervention leverages the power of
engaging stories, reflective questions and evidence-based content that is
simplified and easy to understand , to describe mental health conditions
such as depression, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorders
(PTSD), and drug abuse among others.
It is worthy to note that these insightful and engaging mental health
contents is available in multiple local languages including Hausa and
Pidgin English
The Brave Heart project was developed by an interdisciplinary team
including mental health experts in 2021 through the support of the
youth-led mental health team at Slum and Rural Health Initiative
(www.srhin.org) through transformational investment in the Brave
Heart pilot project from Grand Challenges Canada and their mental
health partners.
