What is D.Map?
      D.Map, short for Disability Map, is a map that aims to help people with disabilities find accessible public facilities.
      According to the Vietnam Disability Law, effective from January 1, 2011: "Access is the use of people with disabilities to use public works, transport means, information technology, cultural services, sports, tourism and other services suitable for integration into the community. "
      The type of approach that D.Map aims at is public works, belonging to many different types of destinations: from restaurants, shopping places, entertainment places to religious buildings ...
      D.Map created by whom?
      Access Map D.Map is a social project of the Center for Disability and Development (DRD) implemented in 2015 with the main partner Hoa Sen University under the sponsorship of UNIID SEA (Universities and Councils Network on Innovation for Inclusive Development in Southeast Asia).
      The D.Map Access Map project was developed on the basis of a paper-based access map that DRD had previously implemented, from 2011 to 2012.
      In September 2017, DRD continued to receive USAID funding for the "Access to Everyone" project for the period of 2017-2020. At this new stage, one of the activities of the goal of Enhancing the capacity of people with disabilities in Tay Ninh and Binh Dinh provinces (under the project area) in terms of access to public works is development and encourage people with disabilities / people without disabilities to download the D.Map app and update information to enrich this app store for people with disabilities.
      What is the meaning of D.Map?
      D.Map's access map application enhances the integration of people with disabilities into society.
      For people with disabilities: D.Map is an effective information channel to search for places that are built with accessible items (parks, offices, offices, cafes, etc.), meeting places. needs of everyone, including people with disabilities). This information is especially important for people with disabilities, the elderly, people with temporary disabilities ... when they plan to move.
      For people without disabilities: D.Map is an opportunity to show interest and support for people with disabilities. This application also helps the community to be aware of the difficulties and legitimate integration needs of people with disabilities in the context of unmet urban infrastructure.
    
      In the long run, DRD expects that with D.Map, the awareness of more and more people in society will positively impact the behavior of citizens and government agencies for public works to be adjusted and built. up towards.
