Jean Chrysostome was born in Antioch between 344 and 349. He died in 407, was Archbishop of Constantinople and one of the fathers of the Greek Church. His eloquence is the origin of his nickname "Chrysostom" (Golden Mouth). His rigor and reforming zeal led him to exile and death.

He is a saint and Doctor of the Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church.
