About Oświęcim Muzeum Wódki

Are you curious how vodka is produced?

Do you want to get to know the history of the Polish liquor industry, of which one of the main architects was Jakob Haberfeld?

Or maybe you want to find the flavor notes found in various types of alcohol?
This and much more to see at the Jakob Haberfeld Story Museum in Oświęcim, exactly in the place of the former Steam Vodka Factory and Liqueurs, which operated in Oświęcim from 1804.

We show the history of the family, which not only became famous in the world as a significant brand of vodkas and liqueurs, but also outstanding figures for the city. Few people know that Alfons Haberfeld was the only Oświęcim shareholder in the first Polish car factory, "Oświęcim-Praga", which was run by such celebrities as Jan Kiepura and Wojciech Kossak.

The exhibition is also a story about the fate of one of the two most influential Jewish families in Oświęcim. Fates interrupted dramatically by the outbreak of World War II and the murder of Franciszka Henryka Haberfeld at the 5-year death camp in Bełżec.
