Project: ANDA NAS LINHAS: Preservation and Enhancement of the Historical-Cultural, Natural and Identity Heritage of Linhas de Torres as a Competitive and Sustainable Tourist Destination Measure: Sustainability Support Line Application no.: P082818

The entity promoting the project “ANDAS NAS LINHAS”, promoted by the Municipality of Vila Franca de Xira:

- It aims to structure the Torres Defensive Lines tourist offer, taking advantage of the historical-cultural, natural and identity heritage of recognized interest, ensuring a sustainable intervention with a view to the conservation, valorization and efficient use of resources, making this activity compatible with the offer of others existing assets in the municipality that add value to the lived experience, such as "gastronomy and wine" (a strategic tourist product for Portugal) and the calendar of artistic, cultural and sporting events that reach different audiences and satisfy different tourist motivations;

- It aims to promote the destination Linhas Defensivas de Torres, increasing tourist demand, through the production and availability of content and info-promotional, museographic and exhibition elements about historical cultural, natural and identity heritage, also taking advantage of digital media and technological applications created for this purpose, investing beyond the national market, in strategic markets such as France and the United Kingdom.

To pursue the stated objectives, the promoter proposes the following subprojects:

Subproject 1: Requalification and Consolidation of Trails on the 1' and 2' Torres Defensive Line

Subproject 2: Requalification of the Forts of the Torres Lines: Fort 1st of Subserra (Military Work No. 114) and New Battery of Subserra (Military Work No. 114-A)

Subproject 3: Forte da Casa Interpretation Center:

I) Content Enrichment: Acquisition of Interactive Table;

II) Coordination, development of exhibition and content, including strategy development and design of museographic and exhibition content;

III) Design of a graphic project for the renovation of the museographic and multimedia space;

IV) Acquisition of an exhibition system for content - communication signage - directories of the exhibition space: cutting vinyls, lettering, digital prints, communication banners, information systems (texts) and subtitles;

V) Design of scripts, collection of images, production and production of a digital documentary about the French Invasions.

Subproject 4: Communication and Dissemination - Explanatory and Proximity Signs:

I) 6 horizontal approximation and explanatory panels - interpretive table; Aguieira Fort (Military Work no. 40);

II) Fort of Portela Grande (Military Work no. 41) and Fort of Portela Pequena (Military Work no. 42) - 2 for each Military Work;

III) 4 approach and explanatory panels for Fort 1° de Subserra (114) and New Battery of Subserra (114-A) - 2 for each Military Work;

IV) 4 thematic panels for the location of the Monument Commemorating the Defense of the Lines of Torres;

V) 4 vertical route information panels;

VI) 25 bollards - APP for 24 Forts and Monument Commemorating the Defense of the Torres lines; VII) 60 bollards for the routes;

VII) 30 - simple directional signage with 1 directory board for routes Brochures
