GelAvista is the program responsible for monitoring gelatinous organisms across the Portuguese coast, launched in February 2016. It aims to involve the community in the development of science, thus addressing the lack of knowledge in Portugal about gelatinous organisms.
This program aims to gather information about these animals, using the participation of the entire population that frequents coastal areas - beaches, estuaries, rivers, marinas, and others - during their leisure activities (boardwalk, diving, sailing, surfing , etc.) or their professional activities (for example collecting from fishing nets).
