Despite its rural-based character, this sub-region is not far from very expressive urban centers, namely the Porto Metropolitan Area, as well as the Municipalities of Braga, Vila Real and Viseu, having excellent access to these centers of great dynamism. and social and economic relevance, since the northern part of the Douro Verde is crossed by the A4 motorway and is within walking distance of the A24.
