The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: The best of people is the one with the best voice in the Qur’an, which if you hear it reciting, you reckon it fears God.
Whoever listens to this amazing reciter never gets tired of listening to him. You feel sincerity and reverence from him that you will not find with anyone
Sheikh Muhammad was born in the city of Al-Manshah in the Sohag Governorate in the Arab Republic of Egypt, and he completed memorizing the Noble Qur’an when he was eight years old. Where he grew up in an ancient Quranic family that inherited the recitation of the Qur’an. His father, Sheikh Siddiq Al-Minshawi, and his grandfather, Tayeb Al-Minshawi, found his father, all of them are reciters of the Qur’an, and in his family there are many who memorize the Qur’an and are fluent in its recitation, including his brother Mahmoud Siddiq Al-Minshawi.
He was influenced by his father, from whom he learned the art of reading the Holy Qur’an, so this family became the pioneer of a beautiful school on its own in reciting the Qur’an, we can call it (the Minshawi school).
He went to Cairo with his uncle, the reciter Sheikh Ahmad Al-Sayyid, and there he memorized a quarter of the Qur’an in 1927. Then he returned to his home town and completed memorizing and studying the Qur’an under sheikhs such as Muhammad al-Numki, Muhammad Abu al-Ula and Rashwan Abu Muslim, who was not paid for teaching.
Sheikh Muhammad Al-Minshawi received the ten readings on the authority of Sheikh Muhammad Saudi Ibrahim, and he is on the authority of his Sheikh Muhammad Bayoumi Al-Manyawi, and he is on the authority of Hassan Al-Jeraisy Al-Kabeer, and he is on the authority of Ahmed Al-Dari Al-Tuhamy, and he is on the authority of Ahmed Muhammad, who is famous for Salmouna, and he is on the authority of Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Obaidi with his well-known chains of transmission.
He recorded the entire Holy Qur’an in a recited recital, as well as a recital of the Qur’an that was broadcast on the Egyptian radio, and he also had a joint reading of Al-Douri’s narration with the reciters Kamel Al-Bahtimi and Fouad Al-Arousi. He also has many recordings in Al-Aqsa Mosque, Kuwait, Syria and Libya.
Among them is the Shu’bah Qur’an, the Glorious Qur’an Qur’an, and another recited Qur’an. Unfortunately, most of them are missing
The Qur’an was recited in the main mosques in the Islamic world, such as the Grand Mosque in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, and Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. He visited a number of Islamic countries such as Iraq, Indonesia, Syria, Kuwait, Libya, Palestine and Saudi Arabia.
Sheikh Muhammad Metwally Al-Shaarawi was asked about his opinion about Al-Minshawi’s voice, and he said: “Whoever wants to listen to the reverence of the Qur’an, let him listen to Al-Minshawi’s voice. He and his four companions (Mustafa Ismail, Abd al-Basit, al-Banna, and al-Husri) are riding a boat and sailing in the seas of the Qur’an, which will not stop sailing until God and those on it inherit.
Voice experts said: “If Sheikh Mustafa Ismail is greater than the quality of the Qur’an, then Al-Minshawi is greater than his recitation! For being distinguished by the sweetness of his voice, his reverence in reading, and his excitement about the majesty and awe of the Qur’an, which dazzled the listeners! He was even called the owner of the “crying voice”!
The writer Muhammad Al-Qusi said about him: “Sheikh Al-Minshawi closed the door to reciting the Qur’an after him, so none of the readers can come close to his unique performance and his angelic voice!
His Eminence Sheikh Ibn Al-Baz, may God have mercy on him, said (If you want to listen to the Qur’an as it was revealed
So listen to Al-Minshawi, it is a sound that you will never tire of, like a spring of pure water flowing to quench my thirst.
