Glew Defenders
The Glew Defensores Athletic Club is a non-profit association founded on May 25, 1920 under Legal Status No. 4575 of the Province of Buenos Aires.
In accordance with what is established in our Statute, the objectives of the Club are: to promote the development of the physical, moral and intellectual culture of all those who are associated and organize social meetings as well as sports competitions, in addition to all those acts in favor of the purposes that constitute its object; and be related to similar institutions in the country and even foreign institutions in order to contribute to the moral and material progress of the Institution (Art.1 inc. A and B).
The Club has a Headquarters, located at Calle Sarmiento No. 45, within which, in addition to developing sports activities, there is also an educational training Institute (Instituto Modelo Defensores de Glew) that includes the three educational levels: initial level (Garden “ El Sapito verde ”DIEGEP Nº2150), primary school (DIEGEP Nº2663) and secondary school (DIEGEP Nº7768). In addition, it has a property located in Patagones at 3600, both in the town of Glew, Almirante Brown Party, Province of Buenos Aires.
Currently our corporate mass exceeds 5 thousand members of all ages and the scope is greater on the days in which there are official matches of the sports leagues of each activity such as FeMeBal (handball), ADIAB and LChF (football), FeBaMBA (basketball) , WKO (karate), URBA (rugby), South Skate (skate), among others.
We currently have a wide range of activities such as children's soccer, soccer 11, futsal, women's soccer, women's and men's basketball, women's and men's handball, men's and women's rugby, karate, figure skating, taekwondo, swimming, women's hockey, batucada workshops and a weight gym.
Thanks to the professional sports development of recent years, our partners have been able to participate in tournaments at the local, provincial, and national level and have also represented our country in Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Bolivia, Aruba and Japan, through different disciplines.
Our Institution is in full development: in recent years, and thanks to the help of our partners, we were able to start and finish the basketball micro-stadium project that consisted of placing a floating floor and renovating a large part of the gym; the swimming pool, one of our 5-a-side football pitches and the handball court were almost entirely renovated; and changing rooms were built on a soccer field 11 in our sports field.
By virtue of this, we are able to say that we are an Institution that not only seeks to maintain what has been achieved throughout its 99 years, but also thinks about improving itself daily to achieve a better stay for its members.
