The Global Programme "Migration for Development" (PME) is part of a broader initiative "Returning to New Opportunities", funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
The overall Programme objective is to improve the prospects of economic and social participation for returnees and the local population in Serbia. The Programme is implemented in cooperation with the Serbian Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs, the National Employment Service and the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration. It offers (re)integration services and support measures through the German Information Centre on Migration, Vocational Training and Career (DIMAK), with special focus on information and counselling services, career guidance, vocational qualifications and trainings, employment and self-employment (entrepreneurship) support as well as psychosocial support. DIMAK also closely cooperates with a range of national and local institutions, civil society organizations, different projects and initiatives throughout Serbia to ensure a sustainable (re)integration regardless of location.
