The traditional dishes of Abkhazia are always hearty, spicy, high-calorie and, of course, fantastically tasty. Fish, as in other regions of the Caucasus, are not very popular here. But lamb, poultry, various vegetables and pastries are often cooked. For a long time, the main occupation of the Abkhaz was agriculture and animal husbandry. Hence the unique qualities of the local cuisine, which was additionally influenced by climatic, geographic and socio-economic conditions, as well as the peculiarities of the flora and fauna of the country.
