About Расчет дозы при КТ

DLP (Dose Length Product) - the absorbed dose for the entire CT scan, taking into account the length of the scan area and the number of repeated scans (for example, study before and after intravenous administration of a contrast agent, study of several areas in one patient, for example, the brain, and chest cavity). The unit of measurement is mGrhcm.

It is a calculated value from the Computed Tomography Dose Index (CTDI). Both parameters (CTDI and DLP) are used in the European Union to establish diagnostic reference levels for radiation doses for main types of CT examinations.

E (effective dose) is the sum of weighed absorbed doses in all organs and tissues of a person. It is calculated taking into account the weighting coefficients for the types of radiation, characterizing their penetrating ability (for X-rays, this coefficient is 1), and weighting coefficients characterizing the radiosensitivity of specific tissues and organs.

Serves as a measure of the biological risk of radiation in CT scans and allows direct comparison with the effective dose in other types of X-ray diagnostics. The unit of measurement is mSv.

Calculated from DLP using conversion factors.

The effective radiation dose E is calculated by the formula:

E = DLP * Edlp

where Edlp is the normalized effective dose for a specific area of study.
