VASSA & Co was founded in Russia at the beginning of 2000 in order to create a conceptually new Russian brand comparable in its level with the leaders of world fashion.
Also in 2000, the first Russian industrial line prêt-a-porter was launched at the factory and the first four VASSA & Co stores were opened in Moscow. The main designer of the brand was Vassa (Vassa), the style and author's handwriting, which predetermined the brand development strategy. The designer’s work experience, her desire to develop her own line of women's clothing, realizing her own ideas and a non-standard approach to modern fashion, formed the true style of VASSA & Co.
Vassa was educated in the USA (Art School VCU and FIT) and worked for leading companies such as Ann Klein, Calvin Klein and Federated. In 1996 she showed her first designer collection in New York.
A follower of the New York school of minimalism and the “heir” of the Russian traditions of constructivism, Vassa (VASSA) masterfully mixes both directions in her collections, constantly searching for a pure primary idea at the heart of each image and silhouette she creates. Today, the Western press calls Vassa "The Russian Queen of minimalism". Designer's love for minimalism lies at the heart of the VASSA & Co brand.
