iCAP is an application developed by a group of Pediatric Anesthesiologists in León, Guanajuato (Mexico).
The aim of the application is to create a reliable tool to perform pre-anesthetic and trans-anesthetic calculations for the management of pediatric patients.
In this application there are various sections of Pediatric Anesthesiology such as: Somatometry, airway, permissible bleeding, fluid therapy, electrolytes, regional anesthesia, inotropics, blood products and PALS.
A study / thesis protocol was carried out in which the application previously validated by a panel of experts was applied to anesthesiology residents in simulations of clinical cases.
The iCAP mobile application significantly improved the number of correct answers obtained by anesthesiology residents, it also significantly reduced the time required to obtain the calculations, which is attractive for improving the transanesthetic care of pediatric patients in the operating room and reducing calculation errors during your care.
The application was considered largely intuitive by all participating resident physicians, so it does not require the operator to be exposed to it in advance to achieve its goal.
The application is in constant development and improvement, so I appreciate your patience, in case of detecting faults or errors in it. Support in spotting them and even suggesting themes for calculations will be greatly appreciated.
The application is expected to be updated soon, adding the topic of fluid calculation in burned patients and heart patients. It is expected to be available on iOS soon.
The cost of the application is merely symbolic, to allow the application to grow and be updated.
