The physics involved in describing a tropical atmosphere is very different from the low and high pressure systems we see in Europe and North America. Instead, tropical climate often has small spatial and temporal scales, which mid-latitude models do not cover due to equation-solving grids and sparser time periods. Furthermore, the physics of clouds and humidity must be treated very differently from traditional models.
For this reason, Ignitia has developed a very advanced numerical tropical climate prediction system based on high resolution and various physics and initialization methods. It took several years of Research & Development to reach an accuracy above 84%, 2 times higher than any other model on the market.
