About PCV-spelet

The PCV game takes you on a reflective journey around what person-centered care means. There you get to carry out assignments that take place both in the app and in your everyday life. The very purpose of the game is for you to understand what a person-centered approach means and how it works in practice.

The game has been developed by the Center for Person-Centered Care at the University of Gothenburg - GPCC in collaboration with dimh AB. The game was financed by funds from the National Board of Health and Welfare in 2016, through an application from the Swedish network for health-promoting health and medical care - HFS.

Briefly about person-centered care:
Person centering tries to understand and explain the patient's situation and relevant medical data. The patient is a fellow human being with abilities and needs. The qualities and abilities that characterize a person can be noticed or neglected, strengthened or diminished by other people, such as health care professionals. Person centering therefore presupposes mutual trust and co-creation between patient and staff. Person-centeredness is an ethic that guides us in practical actions as a fellow human being and professional.

Person-centered care sees patients as people who are more than their diagnosis. Person-centered care is based on the patient's experience of the situation and her conditions, resources and obstacles. The patient thus becomes a partner in the care.
