The Uruguayan Red Cross is a civil association, non-profit, auxiliary to the public powers, independent in humanitarian matters. Constituted under the laws of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay.
Through its territorial network, 19 Departmental and Local branches allow the Movement to provide a timely and efficient response where it is required.
Volunteers are those who are usually first in the place, both in a disaster situation or those who remain in stages of community reconstruction.
The focus of our work is aimed at empowering people in disaster management and humanitarian policies.
The purpose is to improve the quality of our immediate response as well as long-term recovery work.
