Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) causes blockage of the arteries, altering the blood flow that reaches the lower limbs. A recommended treatment to combat this disease is supervised physical exercise, which allows to prevent or mitigate the effects of PAD.
The outpatient exercise program allows patients to take the walks proposed by health professionals in the community, being supervised through the use of information and communication technologies. This program assumes itself as an economic solution to the supervision of physical exercise at DAP.
The WalkingPAD application presents an innovative approach to mitigate or even prevent the effects of PAD, through the remote supervision of patients' physical exercise by health professionals.
During its use, data will be collected, such as locations in the background, accelerometer, etc ... so that your health professional will evaluate your performance during the practice of physical activity.
