About ObesiDose

Most drugs in anaesthesia and intensive care are dosed on total body weight. This is correct in patients with normal weight. In overweight patients the volume of distributon is not well represented by total body weight. This is particulalry true because adipose tissue is not well perfused.
ObesiDose calculates:
- Total body weight (TBW
- Ideal body weight (IBW)
- Adjusted (or corrected) body weight (ABW)
- Lean body mass (LBM

Set height and weight and ObesiDose calculates body mass index (BMI) and all weights listed above. Settings allow to define units for height (cm or feet/inches) and weight (kg or stone/lbs or lbs).

NOTE: ObesiDose currently lists medication used in anaesthesia. It can easily be adapted to cover other fields. Send me your suggestion (field, medications and maybe PMID references)
