My experience as a host with Worldpackers
My experience as a host with Worldpackers has been great. All of the volunteers have been responsible and easy to work with. The communication with Worldpackers can improve. It can be challenging to resolve a problem at times.

Don’t get suckered into this platform
Worldpackers is a scam. We tried Worldpackers as a host. We got one good Aupair but we actually recruited her through aupairworld, she happened to be on Worldpackers too. The other 4 volunteers were basically no shows, one guy upgraded to a room to stay after one day of work because he felt mowing and cleaning was beneath him. Another one came and left without saying hello, we figured he must have seen a ghost, never met him. The third one was a lady from Brazil who decided after three days that she didn’t like our island and left. Another one arrived, worked one day and then immediately wanted a day off to tour the island. From our vantage point this platform scams travelers out of $50 for a false hope to get free stays for a fun “experience” that really doesn’t resemble volunteer work. Stay away, you’re better off recruiting directly.
