The Armband Running Companion is designed for runners who store their iOS device in an armband whilst running.
The information is presented in a landscape format making it easy to view. The orientation can be adjusted depending on which arm it is being worn.
Run performance is mapped and colour coded as you run.
Very simple gestural interface ideal for interacting with on the move.
- Swipe to start recording your running session
- Swipe to finish recording your running session
- Tap to get feedback about current progress and to checkpoint the current location
Audio feedback to report progress of the run at various checkpoints or milestones, and run summaries on completion.
Run summary and run break-down information can be sent to a specified email address. Email includes CSV files providing:
- Detailed run information
- Checkpoint information
- Performance per km
- Performance per mile
Each entry has an associated link to Google Street View.
Open the files using your preferred analysis tools e.g. open directly using Google docs, or File→Import... using Tab delimiters into Microsoft Excel.
Email also includes a GPX file containing all your run details. This is a standard file format that can be imported a wide variety of websites. For example:
http://strava.com
http://traxplorer.com
http://runningheroes.com
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
