HOW IT WORKS:
1. Enable Call Ranger in iOS Settings: Phone → Call Blocking & Identification
2. Enable Call Ranger in iOS Settings → Messages → Text Message Filter
3. Tap the "i" button next to a missed call → "Share Contact" → "Block similar numbers" → Select how many digits to block (up to 12-digits!) and you're all set!

No, you do not get to collect my text messages
This app should warn you that to enable "Call Ranger" to filter your messages, you have to allow the developer to “receive the text, attachments, and sender information in text messages from senders not in your Contacts. Messages may include personal or sensitive information like bank verification codes.” This makes me uncomfortable. All I wanted to do is set up pattern recognition and block those numbers. I don’t want you screening my messages. Who is installing this app and allowing this? I should’ve know better than to buy an app with less than 150 reviews.

Actually Works
I was getting bombarded with 100-120 political messages A DAY, when my blocked number count got to 7000, I figured there had to be a better way. I found Call Ranger. It actually works! You can set up blocking any way you want including an entire area code and it dumps them into your spam folder so you can scan through them if you want to waste your time. Best of all, their support is fantastic. I asked a question through the app and they responded to my question is less then an hour. Bravo Call Ranger.
