Waste of money
The premise is awesome. A simple, sleek email app to gather all your mailboxes. However, the UI is riddled with bugs, the support is unresponsive and the new features are all useless AI (no, I don’t want contextless AI to answer to my work emails). Adding insult to injury, the development team is working on a new mailbox product, completely abandoning users who paid for this one. A few of the most annoying bugs: long press on C to display Apple’s alternate letters, and it opens their copilot. The search is terrible. Once filtered, you cannot use gestures on your mailbox anymore. The connection to Gmail often times out due to too many calls, and you have to redelete everything you just deleted. Edit: they answered my review. I’ve been messaging their support. It doesn’t help. The bugs are still there. And the support is AI that hallucinates non-existant shortcuts. Do not waste your money. Stick to free if you like the UI.

Initially skeptical, but won over
I’ve been looking for a new mail app, and I thought maybe Canary was too full of AI, but it’s so well done. It’s the best example yet of using AI to actually help instead of getting in the way. The AI summary is so helpful in handling an email that is too long to read now, and the categorizer actually works. Well done Canary!
