About Tellmi: Better Mental Health
Tellmi is completely safe because every single post and reply is checked by a human moderator before it is published, and we have in-house counsellors if you need extra support. There are no AI bots. Just real people who really care about you. Tellmi is available 365 days a year and we will never let you down.
Tellmi is age banded, so you are always talking to people your age. You can filter your feed to connect to people who have had the same experiences as you, they get what you are going through. From self-harm to eating disorders, insomnia to autism, the Tellmi community can help you to understand, accept and address the things that are bothering you.
Developed by experts, Tellmi is the only peer support app that the NHS in the UK considers safe for children as young as 11. In 2021 an independent study by University College London found statistically significant evidence that using Tellmi helps people to feel better and less alone. The app increases confidence, reduces isolation and gives you the tools you need to manage your mental health.
In areas where Tellmi is commissioned by the NHS you may also be able to access free 1-2-1 text based therapy. Tellmi Therapy uses a solution-focused approach. It encourages you to think about what you can do, rather than what you can’t do. It enables you to identify existing strengths and focus on aspects of yourself and your life that you can actually control. The technique is designed to help you to imagine different outcomes so that you can move forward in life.
With Tellmi you can:
• Post problems anonymously and talk through anything you are struggling with.
• Manage your anxieties and build confidence. Independent evidence confirms that using Tellmi improves mental health.
• Age Banded: Get support from other people of a similar age. You’ll soon find out that you are not the only one struggling with a particular issue.
• Help others. Share your experience and help others who are in the same situation.
• 100% safe. Every post and reply is checked by human moderators before they go live, so there is no bullying, grooming or harassment.
• Immediate support. Tellmi moderators and counsellors work 365 days a year from 8.30am to 11pm GMT.
• Risk support. In-app counsellors respond privately to high risk posts.
• Learn about wellbeing, mental health, sexual health, relationships, friendships and a whole lot more.
• Get published on an award-winning app. Send us your artwork, personal stories and poetry.

Terrible
This app is a joke. I had several posts withheld for expressing my emotions. I don’t understand how you expect people to be supported if they aren’t allowed to say how they feel. Wouldn’t recommend at all unless you want to be ignored.

App Review
This app reveals teens’ unfiltered thoughts and feelings that are incredibly useful to professionals to help fill this knowledge gap. Professionals can learn from these spaces by reading and answering posts. It gives professionals access to thousands of teens' inner minds and anxieties without having to pry for information. If online forums like this app rise in popularity, this could be an entirely new form of therapy and research for professionals. A professional can search for any topic and view the latest posts. If a researcher wanted to know what causes adolescents' stress, he could search for stress, read all the recent posts, and put together a list of the most common reasons adolescents are stressed.
