Update 12/25: Updating the app continues to be an exercise of frustration. You have to turn off all
Journalists and other vulnerable users should be aware that when updating app all protections need to be turned off. If you get stuck reboot device. ______________Original review: Been using them for awhile. The good: - hardblock mode is awesome!!! - (just remember to turn it off for Spotify, Gmail, etc); - option to use your own DNS; - consistently adding new features & improvements; - one of the first to implement Wireguard, which lately has been flawless (the only protocol on iOS from any provider I’ve personally experienced that consistently honors on-demand settings on cellular); - multi-hop OpenVPN; - physical servers instead of virtual (which most others use - go to amazon with your current VPN without signing in and see ship to - virtual vpns will show an exit that’s not the one you’re using); - iOS App is decent and feature rich; - Support via e-mail elicits prompt replies (w/in 12-24hrs), courteous & usually effective at resolving issues. - price has decreased since I started with them. The iffy: inbound connection attempts from various non-iVPN entities (watch your inbound utun firewall logs on a computer). Support says this should not be happening, yet as of 12/19 it still is. I just block all inbound, but for some this may not be tenable (ie gamers, enterprise users, etc). The bad: To sign in to your account area on website, you have to enter email (user id is not an option). All communications with support are via email. There is a chat button on their website, but it often shows support offline. I can understand that VPN providers get flooded with noob freakouts and to effectively man a live chat, with the current exponential increase in VPN usage, would take a small army. For general web use, this is a great service. For anything more sensitive (ie you’re targeted - jounalists, etc), you may want to wait for the 2nd more thorough vetting (1st one - no logs - they passed, but so did Nord...) by independent organization, which is in the works. Lately (note 12/19), iOS billing is borked (no renew subscription button as before -deleted & redownloaded app to no avail on 3 different iOS/iPadOS devices). Support says they will release a new version to rectify. Overall this is the best paid VPN that I’ve tried considering all of the features, especially for iOS.

1yr of use and was okay until…
…the last update makes the VPN turn off by itself and there are zero warnings or indicators. This is the second significant issue with this app so I am out. **I used this for one year (paid.** Bye!
