About RouteWise

RouteWise helps drivers to better understand their exposure to traffic crash risk along a specified route, while providing trip feedback and safe alternate recommendations.

It does this through a wealth of capabilities, which are wholly based on the fundamental insight that a small set of locations consistently accounts for a considerable portion of total traffic crashes.

Utilizing your smart phone’s built-in sensors, RouteWise runs unobtrusive in the background and automatically detects when a driving session begins and ends. It then tracks your entire trip and provides you with a Route Risk Score, which is created by analyzing historical traffic crash data along the way. RouteWise encourages safe driving with trip feedback and safe route suggestions, so you can plan a safer trip by assessing your options prior to departure.

Currently coverage services are available in Great Britain (UK) and the following states of USA : Arizona, California, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, north Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.

Although RouteWise only uses GPS while your drive, its continued use can decrease battery life, even when running in the background. RouteWise has a feature that enables you to control tracking frequency, in order to preserve the battery life of your mobile device.
