Slow and outdated
I installed this as we renovated our home and had a chance to hardwire cables inside the walls for a security video system. This was recommended by our contractor so we went with it. We have 6 cameras (but it can handle up to 8). The good: It doesn’t require a paid subscription. It works reasonably well in capturing motion. The bad: The app forces me to log out and back in every few weeks. It just says “invalid token” and the only option is to log out and in. The video playback is slow. You cannot fast forward or rewind. Once it starts playing, you cannot do anything else (watch another video) until that video stops playing. I would say it is about 75% in capturing motion. We have a Airbnb unit and use the system to see who’s coming in and out. Sometimes we completely miss these moments. In the end, unlike Ring (which we added on later), we didn’t need to pay for the video monitoring. But, Ring works 100% better. All of my complaints above are not an issue with Ring. You get what you pay for.
