About IndiaScience

India Science is an Internet-based science Over-The-Top (OTT) TV channel. It is an initiative of the Department of Science and Technology, Govt of India. This 24x7 video platform is dedicated to science and technology knowledge dissemination, with a strong commitment to spreading scientific awareness especially with Indian perspectives, ethos and cultural milieu.



Science and Technology are the main driving forces of the nation and fundamental to the progress and growth. So it is necessary that advantages of science and technology should reach all sections of the society through popular media of communication. India's mammoth internet userbase of 500 is split between 305 million of urban Indians and 195 million rural Indians -- all of whom need to be reached with authentic science and technology content. And to do so, the internet is fast becoming the most accessible and preferred media for content delivery.

 

India Science will cover the entire landscape of Science & Technology including Engineering, Health and Medicine, Natural Science, Environment and Wildlife, Children’s Curiosity, Science and Society, Agriculture, Innovations, Scientific Heritage, Science Policy using interactive and latest formats like Documentaries, Discussion, Demonstrations/Experiment Shows, Quizzes, Game shows, Science Fiction, Docu-Dramas, Specials, Biographies. India Science will mainly focus on India's contribution in science and Technology and will also cover the latest S&T developments from all around the world.

 

India Science is a bilingual channel in Hindi and English. India Science can be accessed on any device that has internet connectivity -- laptop, desktop, smartphones, smart TVs etc. It will soon be available as a mobile app. 
India Science is run by Vigyan Prasar, an autonomous organization of the Department of Science and Technology, under the Union Ministry of Science and Technology.
