Simple and effective!
I fiddled with this app for about 30 minutes. Within that period of time, I was immediately convinced of its utility as I was able to identify some very basic intervals in some of the music I play. Of course, it doesn’t mean that I instantaneously got better. I still had to take a few seconds to identify the intervals, but at least I can do so now. I imagine that with enough repetition, this will become very natural without even having to remember the reference songs. Having said that, I wish that this app had certain features such as performance tracking, so that users could easily find out the intervals that they struggle with identifying. As it happens, I e-mailed the developer and was pleasantly surprised when I was e-nailed just 5-minutes later, letting me know that they would look into implementing some of the features I had asked for. Look, for $2.99, even if they never implement the features I asked for, this is already a very functional app. But I think the fact that they spent the time writing me a thoughtful reply speaks great volumes of how they view their users; that is to say that I’m more than just a number to them and that they care about improving the app for users. Many thanks to the developer P.S. I’ll definitely be looking into your other apps.
