About Game Time School Edition

THE GAME TIME EXPERIENCE

Game Time is an interactive game created by International School in order to leverage English language teaching in a playful way. It resembles a TV show combined with a video game in which the teacher plays the role of a TV hostess / host and asks multiple-choice questions, which are closely connected to the topics of the lessons, on several subject areas.

Dynamics
It works like this: players are arranged in groups and each group has got a totem and coloured flags that correspond to each of the alternatives provided as to answer the multiple-choice questions posed. As soon as the “TV hostess / host” asks a question, groups have got limited time to choose an alternative and place one of the flags in their totem.

Points
Groups score a point for each correct answer. For every two consecutive correct answers, groups own the right to spin the Crazy Roulette - which may yield positive or negative outcomes to the group.

Foundation
Game Time has been devised with a strong view to the current international trends in education. One of them is related to engagement - the belief that the more interested students are, the more motivation they have got to learn.

The second trend is gamification, which translates into applying game elements to environments where they are not normally expected. These are some of the aspects that make the Game Time experience unique in the learning process.

Game Time is an integral part of International School’s Programme, hence, it will be used throughout the whole school year.
