This application was developed by an ASHA certified speech-language pathologist to address final consonant perception and use. Minimal word pairs are presented whose members are differentiated by the presence or absence of a final consonant. Users learn through flashcards and game play that final consonants can change word meaning (e.g. tire vs. tired, bee vs. bean, ray vs. rain, etc.) thereby facilitating accurate word understanding and production.
The app consists of 80 pairs. Pairs can be selected by phonological group or individually for a customized learning experience.
Phonological groups included are:
Final t, final d, final k and g, final p and b, final f and v, final s and z, final th, final ch and j, final m, final n, final l and r
