My opinion over the years have changed

I understand that the devs can only do so much. Between this and Odyssey, they are most likely stretched thin. I also understand that anything past Bot Level 20 is essentially beating the game, so progress is going to slow because the devs just never developed the game beyond Level 20. I also understand that this game is free, and if I wanted to spend money (which I don’t), Odyssey probably solves all my complaints. That said… As much as I absolutely loved the initial game with all its game structure, story quests, and leveling up, I’m mostly okay with the game stopping. For me, the gameplay and the fishing is enough. I still have fun with the side quests and selling fish to save up for Essence. But after a few years of struggling my way from Level 20 to Level 26, it’s really starting to feel like the devs just… don’t care. Unlocking Ashen Shores should do something. Reaching higher boat levels should do something beyond energy upgrades. Late game should have a better battle pass. Easier ways to get star fragments. Better fishing. Something. All I want is something to reward the players that have been here for so long. I still love this game, but it feels like the game hates me. Previous review: I usually don’t write reviews for apps but I just love this game so much - the gameplay is awesome, the bots are adorable, and everything is simple enough to not be overwhelming but complex enough to continue to be intriguing. Absolutely no complaints.
