Drastically improved my A1c

I used this app for 6 months last year and it helped to take my A1c from 7.6 to 5.3. I learned a lot about food and how each meal item affects my bs. I made tweaks and changes along the way to fine tune my glucose control. I took a break over the past three months to put into practice what I learned and was able to maintain my A1c at 5.6. I am back to using the app again to assist with weight loss and blood pressure goals I have set for myself. In doing so there are a couple things I do wish could be added and improved upon within the app. #1. I would like to see fiber per day/meal, maybe within the ‘Insight’ tab. Best I can get in the Insight tab is 1 week average. #2. Improve the photo estimates option beyond 3 items. My meal last night had 5 items (smoked brisket & turkey, collard greens, green beans & 1/2 Texas toast). It populates 3 items then gives suggestions on the remaining items to add. BUT when you add a suggested item it will delete a one of the three populated ones. Why not just be able to add the suggested item to the populated ones? I find this to be frustrating and don’t typically use this feature because of this. Beyond these two items the app is easy to use and I recommend it to others all the time in my online diabetes groups.

So far so good!

I just started using SNAQ, snd so far i find it’s amazingly accurate at picking up the foods on my plate. Sometimes it adds something it think it sees in a salad, but I can easily eliminate that item from the list it creates. I was amazed it picked up all of the other items in a mound of salad. I even had a packaged single item snack yesterday (the nutrition info wasn’t on the wrapper, it was on the original box which I didn’t have handy), so I just took a photo of the packaged item and SNAQ had it jn its database so was able to tell me carb count. So far I’m impressed, it’s working well, makes estimating carbs easy!
