About Swift Codes

Swift code, commonly referred to as BIC Code or Business identified Code, is a standard format that helps in unique identification of bank and financial, as well as a non-financial institution. It is approved by the ISO (International Organization of Standardization).
When a swift code is assigned to any non-financial institution, it is called Business Entity Identifier or BEI.
Swift codes are used to carry out international money transactions between banks, as well as for exchanging messages between banks and financial institutions.
Swift codes include 8 to 11 characters. Primary offices typically have 8 digits.
