Welcome to Pesticide Labels, Now!™ The app with pesticide label health, safety, & environmental protection information in Spanish & English on your phone, anytime, anywhere. Just one tap to change the language. Online, you can also download labels approved for Washington State* and connect to WPS training and information.
With this app on their phones, farmworkers applying pesticides in apple and pear orchards across Washington state can access this information for 40 commonly used pesticides and safely do their job. The app’s common sense menu system helps them to quickly locate the specific information they need. No need to search through a multi-page booklet that is technical and complex.
Growers, producers, managers, and handlers now have access to a risk management tool that assists in minimizing pesticide-related illness, crop and environmental damage, and fiscal liability resulting from improper pesticide handling. This tool bridges the language gap between the English pesticide labels and the mainly Latino and Spanish speaking workforce. As one Latino manager stated, “Reading it [the label safety information] in Spanish helps me understand the English.”
The app is handy in remote locations. The English & Spanish contextual translations are in the app. No WiFi, cell or data connections needed.
