About the USPTA: Founded in 1927, the USPTA is the global leader in tennis-teacher certification and professional development and is the only tennis-teaching association to be fully accredited by the USTA.



With more than 14,000 members worldwide and 17 divisions nationwide, the Association’s mission is to raise the standards of tennis-teaching professionals and coaches and to promote a greater awareness of the sport.



The USPTA offers more than 60 professional benefits to its members, including on-court liability insurance, health insurance assistance, a supplemental savings plan for retirement and offers more than 200 education events a year for members to improve their teaching skills and increase their business accumen.



The USPTA is governed by a democratically elected national Executive Committee and Board of Directors. The daily administration of the USPTA is overseen by the CEO at the World Headquarters in Lake Nona, Fla. The majority of the USPTA's membership consists of Professional and Elite Professional level members who work full-time in the tennis industry. USPTA Professionals have job titles including general manager, director of tennis, assistant professional and coach among many others. They direct tennis businesses, develop programming, oversee facility operations, teach lessons and coach teams at all types of facilities, such as private and commercial clubs, public tennis centers and parks, and colleges and schools.
