About Mets tes baskets

WHAT IT DOES
Mets tes baskets by ELA is a step-counting application. You can count your steps from your phone's pedometer or by retrieving them from the HealthKit app.

You can use it to participate in the solidarity campaign to raise awareness (and potentially funds) for the children of ELA.It allows you to count your own steps and know the collective steps of your group, which is even more motivating! The principle is simple: take as many steps as possible for children who unfortunately can no longer use their legs. It allows you to share your commitment on social networking sites, and if you wish, to transform your steps into donations for the children of ELA.

The association finances its initiative s to support families and research thanks to your generosity. The children of ELA are counting on your steps!

EUROPEAN LEUKODYSTROPHIES ASSOCIATION

Founded in 1992, the European Leukodystrophies Association brings together families fighting leukodystrophies.
Leukodystrophies are degenerative diseases that affect the myelin (nerve sheaths) of the nervous system and lead to severe disabilities.
*Every week in Europe, 20 to 40 children are born with these diseases.

MAIN OBJECTIVES OF ELA:

HELPING AND SUPPORTING FAMILIES AFFECTED BY LEUKODYSTROPHIES

- Human support
Thanks to its Family Support Unit, made up of social workers and a psychologist, ELA provides daily support to patients and their families.

- Financial support
In addition to the financial aid granted by the state, ELA helps by financing disability-related improvements (bathroom, vehicle, etc.), technical aids (wheelchair, shower trolley, lifting seat) and so on.

- Support for respite care
ELA works on partnerships and solutions to help families get respite care.
For example, since 1994, ELA has invited all its member families to Center Parcs for a weekend each year. This is an opportunity for patientsand their familiesto exchange ideas, share and relax.

SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF MEDICAL RESEARCH

ELA's objective is to help French and international researchers better understand the mechanisms of the disease and its natural history, particularly through the discovery of biomarkers, and to develop new treatments.
ELA is the world's leading funder of leukodystrophy research. To date, ELA has funded more than 520 research projects for a total of more than 44 millions euros.
To date, ELA is present in 7 European countries (Germany, Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Switzerland).
