Knowing that the region of Vojvodina and Csongrad County have not had any jointly defined product and services that were jointly promoted and branded, this project has created a new and innovative foundation for future joint tourism development and promotion through the following group of activities: creating digital databases, mobile applications and guides, and multilingual web portal, organizing thematic seminars and workshops for relevant stakeholders on promoting, branding and use of EU funds; creating joint tourism strategy development document, promoting defined thematic tour and routes at tourism fairs and in media, and creating a crossborder tourism network IDENTIS.
The project goal is to increase the number of visits to cultural heritage and attractions in the Tisa river region, which will lead to increasing number of tourists and overnight stays as well as the revenue in the tourism sector and service industry. Target groups that the project is addressing are: companies in the tourism industry, media and press, households and accommodation units and local citizens.
The priority is to create a strategic document to define further steps to be taken in joint action. One of the first issues to be addressed is lack of joint tourism products and routes that will initiate promotion of the area. The partners have agreed on unique advantage this region has to offer to its residents but most of all to tourist. The Tisa abounds with natural beauty, and represents an extraordinary potential for tourism development that enables over-all socio-economic development of the region by involving various stakeholders into the very process of products and routes promotion.
Within the Identis project, tourist routes have been formed, namely: rural (village) tourism, wellness and spa tourism, active and eco-tourism, cultural tourism and industrial heritage.
