Plasmids are small circular pieces of DNA often found in bacteria and contain genetic information (a sequence of As, Ts, Cs, and Gs) that can be used to replicate and manipulate DNA sequences in laboratory settings. The app visualizes a representation of the plasmid along with its automated inferred features directly from the user-supplied DNA sequence.
The Plasmids X app provides an all-in-one utility to explore plasmids' features, restriction sites, sequences, and more. Users can create a new or import plasmid by tapping the plus button on the top left button on the screen. The selection of "new plasmid" opens a new sheet where users can paste from the clipboard or import a plasmid sequence (standard FASTA file) found on the device into the app. Then the app infers the sequence and creates a visual representation of the plasmid model from the supplied sequence. The model includes biological information about what sequence encodes and enzymes that can specifically cut the DNA.
The Plasmids X app makes molecular cloning faster and easier.
