Tour the main campus of the Laboratory and explore vitally important remote test site like Gun Site, the birthplace of the uranium Little Boy weapon. You can also visit V-Site—where Manhattan Project researchers assembled the Trinity device.
You can even visit the Alamogordo Bombing Range on the plains of the Jornada del Muerto in south-central New Mexico to discover the site where scientists detonated the world’s first atomic device. See the site of the Trinity Test and visit the significant locations that shaped the world we live in today.
This app will walk you through a timeline of Los Alamos, from before the Manhattan Project and through the end of World War II.
