The Provider/Staff application is used by child care provider staff members to address several child care management needs.
Staff members log into the ELV Provider/Staff application by entering the same user credentials that are used to access the ELV CORE web-based system.
Once authenticated, staff members can check into child care for the day by using the Staff Check-In option, scanning the QR Code that is presented by the ELV mobile Kiosk or web-based kiosk. Once the QR Code is scanned successfully, the application advances to the check-in page where staff members can check in to one of their assigned rooms.
Once checked in, the ELV Provider/Staff app will make a new tab called QR Code available, which when tapped will display the QR Code that is displayed by the ELV Kiosk. This allows parents to bring children directly to the room, where they can scan the QR Code on your app to check their children into child care. The QR Code option must be enabled within ELV Core.
Daily Reporting events have been added that allow staff members to provide updates to parents throughout the day, for several different types of events. The event be as simple as a comment or a note on what is being learned, or can provide details on various events that occur throughout the day, like naps, trips to the bathroom, a message on items that the parent needs to bring to child care, or a fun photo that can be shared with parents.
Meals served to children can also be tracked for each meal/snack served. For those child care providers that utilize Electronic ROM within ELV CORE, tracking of meals within this app will update the Electronic ROM in ELV CORE.
The newest feature is Daily Events Reported, and audit of what Daily Reporting events have been sent to parents for the current calendar date. By default, the logged in staff member will see the events they have reported. But the events reported for other staff, and for specific children can also be viewed.
Name to Face checks can also be done at an interval chosen by the child care provider. This allows staff members to perform a period check to make sure all kids checked into child care (into a given room) are in fact present.
Note that there are two types of photos that can be taken when using the application. The first is a Daily Reporting event where staff members want to share a photo with parents. Staff members take or select a photo, then select the child(ren) that are visible in the photo. The app then checks to make sure that the parent has approved taking photo's of their child before the photo can be sent on to one or more parents.
The second type of photo taken is done using the Child Photo option. This is intended to collect a head and shoulders photo of each child, that is used within the application only. Each time the app asks staff members to chose one or more children from a list of children for any reported event, the child's head and shoulder photo will be displayed as an avatar along with the child's name. This allows new staff members to easily identify the children by face, and associated a face with the child's name.
