Use this app to calculate your body's Basal Metabolic Rate.
Basal metabolic rate (BMR) is the amount of energy (calories) used to maintain vital organs while resting and the digestive system is inactive. Typically about 70% of the calories burned each day is due the maintenance of vital organs, roughly 20% through physical activity or exercise, and 10% of through the digestion of food (thermogenesis).
This calculator estimates a body's BMR. The BMR can then be adjusted by estimating a body's activity level.
This calculator uses the Mifflin-St. Jeor Equation, developed in 1990, which is widely considered the most accurate estimation of a body's BMR based on statistical data.
