The First World War (1914-1918), also known as the Great War, gave many known and unknown heroes in the Serbian army. Among the well-known heroes of the mentioned war is Dušan Dodić, a cavalry officer who was on duty in the Cavalry Division of Serbian Army. Commanding the operational divisions of the Cavalry Division at the time of the breakthrough of the Thessaloniki front, he considerably contributed to the battle success. After that, he was commander of Serbian army divisions which liberated many places in Macedonia and Serbia. For that service to Serbia, he was decorated with numerous domestic and foreign military decorations. He left precious records about those glorious, but difficult, days in the form of a war diary. This application presents the contents of the war diary of the general Dušan Dodić, one of the Serbian heroes of the Great War, a remembering to him of his family, as well as a description of the situation in the city of Jagodina, Serbia, during the Great War.
